The 2nd Asia-Pacific Congress of Sericulture and Insect Biotechnology 2008 Nagoya (APSERI 2008 Nagoya) was held in Nagoya University, Chikusa, Japan from March 21 to March 24, 2008. 192 representatives from 12 countries attended the conference.

Upon the invitation of the organizer, Mr. Huang Ziran, Mr. Caoyang, Mr. Lin Jianrong, Ms. Liao Fupin, Mr. Xie Texin, Mr. Liu Jiping, Mr. Zhong Yangsheng and Ms. Zhao Yahua from SCAU attended the conference. In the keynote lectures, Mr. Liu Jiping made a country report entitled “The Status Quo of Silk Industry in China” and Mr. Huang Ziran made an oral presentation on the utilization of sericulture resources in China.

All the participants spoke highly of this conference and they hope that the 3rd Asia-Pacific Congress of Sericulture and Insect Biotechnology be held in Guangzhou.
